Hi,

It should be similar to how it is on my iPhone

Open Messages

Opena specific "Chat"

Use the Edit option top right (You may have to scroll to the Start of the "Chat")

Then tap the cirlce on the left of each line to get the tick to show.

Use the Delete button.

This way a "Chat" can be edited down to the bits you want to keeep.

On Open Messages though, you get presented with all the "Current" chats that are going on.

There is an edit button top left.

Using this presents icons (red Minus like this ➖) next to each "Chat"

Tapping this icon rotates it 90% and offers a delete button on the right of the line.

This will delete that whole group of Messages to and from that person.

Please, if posting Logs, do not post any Log info after the line "Binary Images for iChat"

Ummm,

I would not describe myself as a great iPhone user nad have not worked out (or rather, been taught by my son) all the little quirky things you can do.

I presumed that not deleting a conversation "stored" the chat.

However I have several "open" conversations but nothing is showing in Settings > General > Usage that relates to "Saved" messages or any sort (SMS or iMessages)

So I spent some time looking at the current Messages on the iPhone to see if there was a Save Option.

If there is I don't know the trick to reveal it.

It may be the few conversations I do have visible on the iPhone are not enough to register as a "storage" amount to be listed.

Hi,

In iOS 7 I have to to go to Setting > General > Usage > Show all Apps to see what Messages considers to be "stored" on my iPhone.

Mine currently reads 7.6MB.

I am presuming iMessages with Pics in them will increase the storage needed.
