Q: How can I publish books from the UK?

I work for a company that has just published a book. We're not a publisher usually, so this is just one of many projects, and we have to distribute the book via the platforms ourselves.

My question is: Do I need a US taxt ID to publish in the iBookstore, and if so how do I get that with a company solely registered in the UK? I have looked into it already, and it seems not possible. Am I doing something wrong?

Many thanks for your help.

No problem. You can publish a book as a UK company in any of the 32 stores.

You need an EIN number from the IRS, which you can get in about ten minutes over the phone.

    See here for more infom

How to sign up for a paid books account if you are not a US citizen:

    See this FAQ.

You will need an EIN from the IRS/US Govt., which you can obtain over the phone. If you attempt to publish as a company with Apple, you will be expected to show proof. Scan the relevant documents and send to Apple per their instructions.

Know that at this time, there are 32 stores are available for publishing/distribution, basically US, Canada, Australia, and most of Europe.

Be patient during the process whihc can take a week or more to complete.
