Mar 20, 2014 5:50 AM in response to chatterboxby AmishCake,No. If you downloaded/purchased it under one ID, you will have to update it under that same ID. If you can't do that, you will need to re-download/re-purchase under the new ID.

Mar 20, 2014 6:15 AM in response to AmishCakeby chatterbox ,Thanks. The thing is, I did purchase the apps under my ID. Why does this happen?

Mar 20, 2014 11:12 AM in response to chatterboxby AmishCake,I have no idea. If you have ANY apps that were purchased under the old ID, they will ask for the old credentials when it's time to update.

Oct 31, 2014 9:23 AM in response to jan.solisby Araymond9,Help! Tried updating my 5s to iOs 8, and for some reason it crashed and made me restore my phone. No problem, restored it. My phone is showing that the apple id is MY apple id, BUT when I try to update some apps (not all, weird...) it shows my HUSBAND'S apple id and wants HIS pw! WEIRD!!!! No idea why. I can't find his apple id hiding in any settings anywhere. I've even signed out of my apple id and re-signed in, and still to no avail.
Help! Oh, and another oddity - some of my apps are missing from my screen, and I have to re-download them. Weird.

Dec 10, 2014 4:16 AM in response to rachelle221by Trying to See,I had this exact same problem;
Don't go getting frustrated or attempting to do it yourself, too much bother, it takes them less than 10minutes to fix for you.
Go to ; https://getsupport.apple.com/ConfirmationAction.action
Get them to call you back - takes less than 2 mins. (You don't even have to pay for the call).
They will log in to your Mac remotely.
Demonstrate the problem to them and they will fix it for you.
Basically, all the uploads/downloads/purchases you've done under a different ID won't carry across to your second ID.
They will generate codes to move all your past uploads/downloads/purchases to your preferred ID.
From then on, all your updates will be seemless.

Nov 2, 2015 3:47 AM in response to rachelle221by Consi81,I found on my Wife's phone that the apps that were trying to update could only be updated by the older apple ID, it was if the original command was made by the older ID acc using it to access iTunes to update. I had signed in and out nothing would work I was at whits end so I just thought out of the box. The Two apps that were trying to update I deleted then downloaded them again. When asked the correct ID was referenced for the password. Had a little fist pump on this one but it's what you will suffer when one of you is up to date with tech and the other just wants to be. After changing you apple id delete any apps that are trying to update and install them using the new acc information.
Hope this helps.

Dec 7, 2015 9:41 AM in response to deamonedby Blizzard_101,Yep, only thing that worked for me too; delete and re-download. Note; did not lose any "data" from any of the apps I deleted, including spotify, facebook, messenger, kijijji. All of them worked fine after the new download.
