Q: I purchased and installed an upgrade "Crucial"

Reseat the RAM - very firmly until you feel a sort of soft click.

It takes quite a bit more force than you might expect.

Just what did you buy from Crucial?

1. Did it have the proper specs (post your speciifc MBP model)?

2. Was is specifically for Macs?  Just having the same specs isn't sufficient.  Macs are picky and you need ram that is explicitly documented as being for Macs.  Using anything else is a crap shoot with indeterminate results.

Exactly what model MBP do you have (look in System Profiler) and what RAM specifications did your get and what capacity are the RAM chips?
