Background image (vector art as pdf) is blurry when outputting pdf or printing:

Pages '09 word processing document

I created a pdf from an InDesign file.

The pdf has placed vector art (Illustrator) elements.

There are no bitmap elements in the file.

I brought the pdf file into Pages, and set it as a background element.

When I view the pages doc and zoom in - the vector art elements look crisp.

But when I print or create a pdf they look blurry.

Those icons are all vector art (from illustrator).

In theory, it should not be possible for them to be blurry - there are no bitmaps in the file.

If anyone wants to have a look at the file, I will post it for a look-see.

Thanks everybody!

Matt

edit:

Adding on:

The pdf that I am using as a background image looks perfectly crisp when viewing in acrobat, or when printing from acrobat.
