How to backup to an old iCloud backup?

I wiped my phone thinking that I still had a recent backup, but it turns out that I didn't. I didn't lose anything exceot for about 1000 photos that were only on my phone and iCloud. When I set up my phone again, it automatically backed itself up to iCloud again- meaning that my latest backup has nothing on it. It does, however, say that there is a backup from April that has 1.4 GB of photos on it, and I was wondering how I could get to them? I can't get the photos to show up on photo stream or iPhoto, but it says that they're still on the cloud. Does anybody know how to get to them or how to restore to an iCloud backup that wasn;t the most recent?
