My iPod video doesn't play songs or videos anymore. I hear the HD loading, the progression bar goes on but no sound is played. It looks like everything is working fine but there's no sound at all. This happens with hearphones or dock (when it's connected to a stereo). I've already tried holding menu + center button and I did a firmware restore in iTunes.
Any ideas? Thank you

It could be that your iPod's audiochip has went out. Not unlikely given the age of your device.

Thank you. Unfortunately I wasn't able to fix it and Apple support says it's too old and it cannot be replaced.
I'll try to look for a logic board on ebay...
If anybody knows a solution please reply to this post!

There really aren't any other solutions other there out than to you replace the logic board as you have already read.

At last I've discovered that the iPod is supported but it's gonna cost me A LOT to have it fixed.
I'll wait this fall to see the new line (if any) and then I'll make my decision. I don't want to pay nearly 200$ for a 6 years model when maybe I can get a new one for the same or less.
