Corrupt iPod Classic

iTunes is saying that my Classic is corrupt and needs to be restored (now my Ipod won't turn on unless restored). Much of my music came from different computers, is there a way to still save my music, or is it just a lost cause?

It's a lost cause, corrupted filesystem is difficult to recover, unless you bring it to 3rd Party Data Recovery service.

Here we suggest

  1. Reset the iPod Classic (wont work in your case)
  2. Restore the iPod Classic - this will delete everything in your iPod.

You can google

iPod Data Recovery Software

There are even trial 3rd party software, that you can try.

The Ballpark cost for IPod Data Recovery Service can be about US$200, actually is about the same as data recovery from a crashed harddisk, but that figure might me different in your area, especially if the next competitor is about a day drive away. So try google for reasonable cost near your area.
