Anyone know why the camera connection kit can't be used with the iPhone?
There are several previous posts about this. None with WHY. Some do refer to:

Read reviews of poor speed assocaited with SD card reader + iPhone. Could this be a limitation of the SDK for iOS or the hardware itself?

Based on not transfering media you dont own from sdcards. And se cards MAKE rooting Easier
Obviously some have overcome this designed limiation.
Rooting (jailbreaking?) seems to keep up actively with the current iOS version. Why limit users from all potential use?
How can this be overcome? Can it be requested in development?
