This also happened to me when I upgraded to Mountain Lion. After trying almost everything, I finally switched routers. Apparently there is something about D-Link routers and iTunes Match running in Mountain Lion that doesn't work. As soon as I switched to the Airport Extreme, everything ran smoothly.

This problem has been happenning to me for a while. iTunes Match would say it was sending information to apple, and never do anything else. Finally, I reinstalled iTunes on my mac by re-downloading the installer and running it. (If you are on Lion, simply re-run the installer package. Snow Leopard users should delete the application from the Applications folder first, then run the installer package). iTunes Match works perfectly now.

I tried reinstalling iTunes, but this did not fix the problem for me.  It's hanging on "Sending information to Apple..." eventually displaying an error dialog that says the following:

We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection was lost.

There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.

Zeke, holding option while stopping/starting iTunes Match will really force iTunes to rematch everything.

I was also having this issue in Brazil since aproximately today (Sept 1st) 12am GMT. Holding the option key to turn it off/on did it for me.

    AndreGB,

what ist the option key in Windows World? Is it the ALT key?

Yes, Stefan. Now you'll have to test if Apple implemented that function on their Windows Client.

I just tried holding the option key, but this did not work for me.  It took longer, but still gave me the same error.

My iTunes match keeps getting stuck at the third stage. I signed up for it a couple of days ago, and it says I have 4000 songs to go, but it will only upload like 10-15 a day.  It gets stuck when I leave it on overnight or while I'm at work and it just hangs on a track. If I stop it and restart, it takes a while to go through steps 1 and 2 and the it uploads another 10-15 songs and gets stuck again. This will take months if something doesn't change. I really hope it's just a server problem at Apple that will be fixed soon. This service ***** because now I can't manually add songs to my iphone that haven't been uploaded to itunes match!

Same problem. Many errors and stuck progress bars with iTunes Match.

A very disappointing product by Apple.

They need a Johnny Ive of cloud software.

I've had the same problem for 2 weeks now... Apple must be aware of this by now!

I've gone from about 4000 songs remaining to 2500 songs in 2-3 days. Someone on another thread recommended turning off iTunes match in the store menu and then turning it back on an signing in again. This appears to help, but with varying results. The first time I tried it I let it run overnight and managed to upload 1,000 songs! I thought that my problem had been solved, but I have yet to see results that good again. I am now getting through a few hundred songs per day. I am on my way home and hoping that I made good progress while at work, but yesterday I was disappointed to find it had uploaded only about 100 songs in 10-12 hours. Anyway, it's worth trying.

I'm so bummed out. It only uploaded 36 tracks in the 10 hours I was out of the house. This thing is killin me!
