    Oh! I totally agree with you. It should just work. However, they did promise to release the new iTunes on October (they still do http://www.apple.com/itunes/new-itunes/) and October is almost gone, so it COULD be a reason.

    I hadn't seen that, not that it should really make a difference, but I guess it could have some bearing on the situation. Anyway, they're cutting it a bit fine if they're going to release it this month!

    This is driving me mad, I subscribed to this on Monday and I still have not managed to get this to complete. It gets so far and then gives error 4002 all the time.

     

    At this current time, it is sticking at "sending information to Apple"

     

    A dreadful experience.

     

    Also, what music has been uploaded is on my iPhone and iPad, but there is no music at all on my Apple TV and I cant sort that out at all.

    Same "sending to apple" rubbish here. Using iTunes 11. Waste of money, yet again.

    I have never used Match, but I had Genius on.  When I upgraded to iTunes 11 (on Win7), iTunes went into continuous "Genius - senidng information to Apple" mode.  All the Match and Genius related menu options are greyed out.

     

    I restarted iTunes, and the problem went away, at least for now.

    I have been trying trying for the last 2 days to get my match to add/check for match on some new files I recently added.  I originally had ITunes installed on 3 computers. (Windows 7 installs on all of them)  One installation was wiped out without deauthorizing first which was my mistake.  I ended up deauthorizing it from the accounts menu in My account. That brought me to 2 computer authorised.  This one and my laptop which has my original'mp3 library.

     

    I have installed a brand new copy of Itunes11 on this computer. (its never had Itunes on it before at all.  total virgin install)  I have a very limited amount of music on this computer so I thought I would try to turn on match and bring some of my files down to the local drive from the cloud and match my existing local files.  I turned on Match and for the last 4 hours It has been "Sending Information to Apple"  I only have about 100 track or so on this computer but I have about 11k matched and uploaded to my cloud acct.  I cannot access my cloud files to dowload to this computer now.  I cannot get any match info on my local files as to whether they are matched or not either. 

     

    When I 1st installed and activated the match, I was given a warning about "Match is trying to match 2 computers.  Can only match one at a time.  Do you want to stop sync on other computer?  Yes or no"  or something to that effect.  I told it to match on this computer and stop the other one. 

     

    I checked my laptop with the original library and I am getting the same thing. Its stuck on checking library and sending info to Apple. I do have access to my cloud files on my laptop but not on this desktop

     

    I ahve done all the suggestins such as rebooting clearing cache etc but no joy.

     

    So I am totally stuck on this new computer and cant get any files matched or downloaded to my local drive.  Can get them on the laptop but not this one.  I CAN move them over by manually tranferring them via network or adding them from a backup on a HD.  BUT as I am paying for this service, I shouldn't have to do any more work then I already have done. (2 days worth) 

     

    Not sure where to go frmo here.  Getting annoyed!

    Man it looks like you just told match to erase the 11k files from the cloud and forget about them !

     

    What you SHOULD have done, I guess, was to start from an empty library on the desktop computer, told it to associate with Match, get the 11K Match songs displayed (but not downloaded on course) on the computer, then add the other 100 songs to that Library. (Thus making Match upload them)

    Phoned Apple support. They told me to go to "Store" > hold alt/option and click on "Turn off iTunes Match". Then turn it back on again. iTunes Match will start from the beginnning again with checking library. This fixed the problem for me.

    Just tried doing that.  I get the same msg.  It appears my library is still intact on the laptop.  How do I associate the desktop with my laptop match.  i cant restart match without setting the acct to associate with the empty library which will definitly wipe out my uploaded library.  Cant get my 11k to show on the desktop but they appear to b there on the laptop.  Am most confused now...lol
