Where is the serial number for my pre-installed Adobe Photoshop?

HI folks. I bought a refurb iMac directly from apple 2 years ago. It already came with Adobe Photoshop as well as many others. I didn't start using the photoshop until recently. Yesterday, I logged on, and asked me for a serial number. Where would I find this or how do I obtain this since it came with the iMac? Thank you in advance!

MartyHawk,

Sorry to correct you, but Mike is absolutely correct! Apple does not sell pre-installed third party software when they sell refurbished iMacs. I suspect you either didn't buy a machine that was refurbished from Apple, however if you did and somehow got a copy of Photoshop then it's illegal and should be removed from your system. If you insist on attempting to use it then you will need to contact Adobe as it's their software.

BTW Garage Band is NOT an Adobe product that is part of iLife and iLife is made up of Apple applications.

I understand what you are both saying, HOWEVER, what I am saying is I bought it DIRECTLY from Apple refurb department. It came with ALL adobe products already - some I haven't even heard of or would never use. So according to you guys, I guess they messed up or let one slip by. Obviously, regardless now, according to you guys, I need to update, reinstall the product.

BTW - I KNOW Garage Band is not an Adobe product. I was commenting on all of the items that were installed on my iMac.

Thank you for your replies.

Marty, I'm not debating the fact that you got a Mac with third party software and I'm not trying to act as the software police. Yes, Apple apparently messed up and let one slip through, strange considering the stringent testing that refurbs go through, not to mention formatting and re-installation of software. I'm just trying to make you aware that any third party software wasn't supposed to be on there and Adobe or whoever will look at it as un-authorized (stolen) if you try to update it. It doesn't happen often but you don't want to be the one caught with unauthorized software on your computer, you'll have a **** of a time convincing them that it was there when you bought the machine. Just want you to know that it could be VERY expensive.

Best of luck to you and if you do end up having to purchase software and don't need all of the features of Photoshop take a look at Photoshop Elements, it offers many of the same tools but for a less demanding user and for less $$$.
