Q: Can you hook up a projector to an iMac computer or Macbook?

I am hoping to play a DVD off my iMac computer or Mac Laptop, and was wondering if this is possible - perhaps through the red, yellow and white input/output chords? Please let me know if you can give me any suggestions.
