Q: fuji F550 EXR and i-photo

I have bought a fuji F550 EXR and although i-photo 'sees' it and JPEGs download from the camera appears in the 'masters' folder it cannot be seen on screen in 'events' or 'photos' anybody and idea why? My Nikon DX40 operates fine.

MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011), Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Do they show up in Last Import?

If the photo is in Last Import, then the photo is in the Library somewhere,  just not where you expect it to be. Usual causes: the date on your camera is wrong, and so the date on the photo is wrong, or the sorting of the Events has changed (View Menu -> Sort Events)

Sir Terence, you're a God. A perfect answer.

I changed the camera date from 2011 (Doh!)  to 2012 and my problem is completely solved.....

    Hi

This is a bit off topic but since you have the camera I'm looking for I would like to know one thing. Does iPhoto and Lion support importing RAW format from F500EXR? If it succeeds is it preserving the GPS info also? Is GPS info preserved on imported jpegs?

No, the F500 is not supported for Raw.

If the GPS info is written to the correct fields then it will be imported from Jpegs. A quick test import will tell you if it is.

Oops. I should have said F550EXR. I'm just looking at which camera to buy so I can't test it yet

I found the page of supported RAW formats. However, since Fujifilm FinePix X100 is supported I thought that things might actually work even with F550EXR if the format is the same.

Yes, that's what I was working from

I thought that things might actually work even with F550EXR if the format is the same.

The Raw from every model of camera is different. Note: that's every model not every brand. So, the NEF produced by a Nikon D40 is not the same as the NEF produced by a D60, the CR2 produced by a Canon 350 is not the same as the CR2 produced by a Canon 400.

Therefore the Raw for every camera model needs to be added individually.
