I recently upgraded to 5.1.1 and now GPS will not work at all, help?? Iphone is now useless

Does it make calls? Can it text? Search the internet?

Try putting it into Airplane mode for a couple of minutes then take it out of airplane mode.

What is it doing that you think GPS is not functional?

Mine doesn't work either. Not since 5.1.1 (9B206).

Navigation software reports 'GPS Poor' despite being out in the open, and maps switches between showing me at the last location it was able to pick up (before the update), and a message stating that my 'Location cannot be determined'.

I noticed it wasn't working after trying out the iCloud ipod locate feature.

A colleague of mine has also just updated his ipod Touch 4G (in the last hour), and that has stopped working as well.

Neither does mine..ever sinve i upgraded to 5.1.1 my gps "cannot determine location" and no app can use the gps. I've tried everything from restoring to rest network settings, reboot, airplane mode toggle..

Nothing works my gps has been useless since 2 months.

**** i cant even send sms texts because my smsc number is stuck on +7 and there's apparently no working way to change it.

I don't know why i haven't dumped this phone already..probably cuz i paid a **** lot of money to buy it factory unlocked

Have you had the same problem with 5.0 or 5.1? 'cause some time ago I had an iPhone 4 and with a upgrade to 5.1.1 I had no problems at all. It was unlocked and I bought it in Europe. But now... I have the same problem as you but only with 4S. There are no app that works with geolocation correct, even a famous Find My iPhone dosen't work. I hope that it's only a software problem and it would be solved in iOS 6.)))

You see... stever32ukin original post said that it's a problem in iPhone 4, not 4S... but, if you're right then in 1 month I'll get a brandnew "The New iPhone" 🙂 And Apple will replace it to me!

If there is a hardware problem that requires an exchange under warranty and the iPhone remains under warranty, the exchange will be like for like.

hi there! there is no hardware problem as I told you. I got a new iOS 6 GM version today and now I don't have any problems with a gps system in my 4S. So... you can upgrade your phone and enjoy!))
