Being fairly new with the iPhone, how do I configure itunes to look for my Outlook contacts and calendar? At the moment,when I try to sync, I get the "No supported calendar application can be found" message. Thanks!

If you are running Outlook 2003, 2007 or 2010, iTunes should automatically recognize this and make the option to sync calendars and contacts with Outlook available on the Info tab of your iTunes sync settings. Do you have one of these versions?
I have Windows 7. When I go to the Info tab, I get the opportunity to sync contacts but not calendar. Calendar box is lightly shaded with the "No supported..." message in it. Thanks
Are you syncing you calendar with an exchange account?
I am not...and I was successful manually syncing until I upgraded to software version 5.1. And then the "No supported calendr..." message began.
You could try uninstalling iTunes and all of its components as by following this guide: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923, then reinstalling iTunes. This will replace a potentially corrupt Outlook plugin. You must follow this guide exactly or it will not be successful. Note: uninstalling iTunes will only remove the application; it will not touch your iTunes library or data.
