Hi.
I've found recently that when I'm watching a video on youtube through safari the video will suddenly stop around halfway into it. I end up having to watch it using another browser. This only happens with Safari.
Has anyone else come across this?

Helps to telll us which Mac OS X you have installed when you post 🙂
Since most YouTube content requires the Flash plugin try troubleshooting..
Uninstall the currently installed Flash plugin then reinstall new > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Very important to uninstall the original plugin first.
Quit then relaunch Safari. From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
Now try a video.
BTW... if you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to: Open in 32 bit mode is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.

Do this first...
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Storage tab. Click: Delete All

Sorry, it didn't work. Safari still stopping youtube vids part way through. Has also started displaying vids that judder. It's happening on chrome as well.
I had the same problem on Lion 10.7.3 until I upgraded to Mountain Lion. Now I have 10.8.1 and I have the problem again. I tried those solutions but nothing happened. 😕
Same problem with 10.8.2. Really frustrating...😕
Any solutions to this? It is crazy I cannot do such a basic thing as playing YOUTUBE videos on my OSX devices! Crazy!
I have one 10.7.3 and one 10.8.2 machine and it's the same thing!
it's really sad. i can watch youtube on a $100 tablet, but i can't do it on my MacBook Pro.

Hi, im having the same issue, at begining it only happened once in a while, but now i cant watch any youtube video, it stops between 40% or 60% of its entire length, please did anybody discovered how to fix this issue?
I really like safari on mac, dont wanna switch to mozilla or chrome.

same problem here, but i found it only happening when there is a flash ad down in the video (the small yellow mark on the sliding bar). i can watch ads free youtube videos without any problem, I'm not sure if this is the same problem but it's really annoying

very same with my mbp early 2011. where should i look for answer to this problem? makes me crazy and **** on apple. youtube stops halfway in safari and chrome!
I have the same problem with any internet browser, this is crazy. apple need to work on this issue
Right click on the video in question to bring up the settings for flash. Disable hardware acceleration in first tab and reload. This may help.
