Right. Nothing you can plug into a USB 1.1 port can turn it into a USB 2.0 port. The only way to add USB 2 to a computer that didn't ship with it is to install a USB adaptor card in an expansion slot, and iMacs do not have the required slots nor can such slots be retrofitted to an iMac.
