how to reset my usb drivers?

Hi,

On a recent business trip I needed some external storage so bought a 1TB USB Iomega Helium HD. This has hardware encryption as an option and so I (stupidly) installed the Iomega software. Every since installing the software the Macbook Pro keyboard hangs/locks whenever the USB HD is added :-(

If I leave the Activity Monitor App running, and add the USB HD then the activity monitor continues, growl works, IM keeps working, but the keyboard is dead. No caps lock light etc. Only solution is a complete reboot with the power button.

The hard drive works on everyone else's machine - because they didn't install the Iomega software!!

I have a full backup/clone so how can I restore the drivers/software for USB? Where are the USB drivers located on Mac OS X? This is all version 10.6.8.

Uninstall the Iomega software according to the developer's instructions. If you can't find any other way to get rid of it, you'll have to erase the boot volume and do a clean reinstallation of the Mac OS.

Thanks for the info.

This is Iomega software so there is little or no support, and no uninstall instructions.

I am not going to re-install the whole operating system because of this, and so I will have to carry on with the debug work.

Fixed it!

Went through all the packages with 'lsbom' to find all files, then manually deleted them all.

Then used 'dd' to wipe the first MB of the hard drive to clear all the mbr and partition in (copied the data off first of course!)

Plugged it back in and all is fine! Needed to re-partition but all good now.
