I just bought an ipod Model # A1059 from a friend of my fiance's and when I went to restore it like I would with our other ipod it told me to plug it into an outlet charger to finish the restoring process. I've looked all over the Internet for a solution but I CAN'T seem to find one, when I connect it to any cable it does NOTHING, just continues to display the "connect to outlet" picture...

When you connect the iPod to a USB 2.0 port. (At the back of your PC), what do you see on the iPod screen?
This symbol, mean that you are connecting it to a low power USB port.(most likely the port at the front of the PC)
if you are using a laptop, switch to another port, till this symbol comes on.

I have the same model A1059 and had the same problem.
Solution: I borrowed an Genuine Apple USB power adaptor for iPad, and used it to connect my iPod to a wall outlet, in a few seconds, the Apple logo appeared and it now works.
