why is speech application (system pref) no longer working with Lion? Or at least when I down loaded Lion it stoped working

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

What is not working?


Speech Preference Pane?

Speech recognition?

Text-to-Speech?

A bit late, but came across your question and think I can answer it, IF the "software" you were using was Dragon/Nuance. Nuance screwed its Mac customers by selling its software to Snow Leopard-and- prior OS users, then refused to put any effort or money into making it compatible with Mountain Lion, Lion, etc. So, if that's the issue you're dealing with, your only choices are to re-install your old OS, buy the latest ripoff from Nuance for Mac users, or use the native capability that you'll find in Maverics, etc.
