redeem code example?

if you got a gift card in the plastic form, then there should be a silver rectangle on the back. if you gently scratch it off you should see a long series of numbers and letters that is your redeem code.

if it was emailed to you it should be labeled as the redeem code.

I entered this and used some of it, i now want to use the rest but apple is asking me for a code again....but i dont have the card as it logged on my account which shows i have approx £24 left but i cant seem to use it.....any ideas?!
