Problem Printing to a Canon MX700 Printer

I have a new Macbook Air (love it) and I want to print to my Canon MX700 printer. I have the driver properly installed on the MBA and I can print a test page to the Canon MX700 from the MBA. However, when I send an actual file to the printer, it never goes beyond the status of "spooling" in the print cue. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks much...

The test print from the driver properties is not a true indication of a correct print queue configuration. With you getting just spooling in the print queue it would suggest that something is amiss with the queue.

So the first action is to remove the printer from Print & Scan and add it again. When you do add it again, don't select the MX in the mini menu that appears when the plus button is first pressed. Instead, select "Add Printer or Scanner" and then from the Default Add Printer view, select the MX700 shown as "canonijnetwork" in the Kind column. If its displays first as Bonjour Multifunction just wait for the other entry to appear.

Thank you for the feedback. I should have mentioned my Canon MX700 is installed/connected to a Window XP desktop. The printer is being shared across my network and can be seen/printed to from a Windows laptop on my network so from the windows side, it is good to go.

I deleted the MX700 printer and re-added it by selecting "add printer or scanner." However, the printer only shows via the "windows" view (4th icon), where I can navigate/access it accross my network. I can add it, select the driver and install it just fine.

Still no joy printing an actual job to it though...

Thanks much...
