Q: I reset my Ipod Touch. How do I restore it or use the back up?

I just bought this Ipod Touch 1st G at a pawn shop. I decided to reset it so I could "make it mine". It has been over 24 hours since I erased all contents and settings and I still have a black screen with the Apple logo and a little "working" circle and Itunes or my laptop is not even reading it now. How do I restore it or use the back up? Please someone help me fix it

Try here:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
Did you go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and Setting without having the iPod connected to a charging source? On a 1G or 2G iPod the erase can take hours.
If you can't turn the iPod off, then let the batttery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour try again.
