Q: why does my ibooks only have free books? i want to browse and buy

Why does my ipad2 ibooks only have free books listed and not books to purchase or browse?

iPad 2, iOS 5.1.1

It can't have been pointing to the New Zealand store - I can also only see free books there on my computer's iTunes.

What country are you in ? Paid-for books are not currently available in all countries - Apple can only sell content where the distributors/copyright holders grant them licenses to (what can be bought where is listed on this page). Do you have access to other ebook stores and apps where you are e.g. Amazon, Kobo, Nook etc ?

Im in new zealand. I went to a electronic shop today, and they have the app working just fine, had new realease books and author searches etc.
so it works here in nz

According to that link you only currentky have free books in New Zealand
