iTunes match and android device

I have been an apple supporter since the early days of floppy disks and the first ipod. Recently i made a life altering decision to go with the android device. I am on my second- Galaxy Note. I love it. I am a heavy user of the device mostly for professional reasons. I do however have nearly 100G of music, a lot of it purchased from iTunes. I did strip the DRM protection from most of it, and successfuly enjoy it on my android.

My unserstanding of iTunes match, is i can download all music DRM free. It also appears that the stripped copies of the songs are ineligible for upload to the cloud.

I would really love to have access to the cloud from my android device. I am wondering if apple has any plans to create an app for that, or if any of the dev teams are working on this. does anybody have this interest or know of any information.

I'm sure there is more than a little interest in being able to use iTunes Match on Android devices. However it's not going to happen. There's no compelling reason for Apple to allow it.

You must not of thought too hard about 'compelling reasons', so i'll give you one:

For years i bought all of my digital music from itunes. But, because of their inability to match the iCloud with droid devices, I now buy all of my digital content from amazon and google.

I have always been a fan of apple products. But when a company becomes intentionally incompatible with other hugely popular products - I abandon that company.

The intentional incompatibility with droid ranks as one of apples biggest consumer insults. It's like the iPhones and iPads that still don't contain memory card slots. No memory card expandability in 2012, really?

Apple is becoming like a partisan cult to me. It's getting harder to justify the higher costs on their products when many of the advantages only benefit you if you are 100% invested into their products.

Yet the stock continues to rise.

I'm with GG and Shaniac....I also just bought a Galaxy Note 2 and I also love it! In the words of Steve Jobs...the Galaxy Note makes the Ipad Mini "dead on arrival" in my opinion.....A ipad mini phone - like the Galaxy Note 2, would have been a game changer. I have a Mac Air with a Thunderbolt display (seriously the best computer I have ever owned)...and also an Ipad and Apple TV.....I was going to buy the Iphone 5 to complete the circle and get rid of my blackberry...but I've gone for the Galaxy Note....which is an awesome peice of kit - the stylus is great, as is the big screem, but big enough to put in pocket. BUT I have a huige itunes library....I remember when the ipod changed the world ONLY when Apple made itunes windows compatible. If Apple had not pandered to the windows market, it would never have worked. I'm very disturbed that they are resisting having itunes on android...it smacks of arrogance and monopolistic intentions. The fact that the iphone 5 is about 33% per cent more expensive than a Galaxy Note...and still they take the mikey with the storage cards is a real shame for Apple. Apple should really get it together again...big shame...

Sadly, last time I checked those of us outside the United States don't have access to Google Play Music, so we have no solution to set up our iTunes libraries to stream our music on our Android devices. Even though Android has more storage capacity and expandability, this still can never amount to enough space to store 20,000 or 25,000 songs physically. It's disappointing.
