Why does a different song than the one listed play when I play music on my iPod touch?

Every time I play a song on my iPod touch, a different song than the one listed plays. The album artwork matches the artist and album listed, but the audio itself is a completely different song. I tried playing different albums and playlists and only on seemingly random occasions did songs actually match up to the audio. This has been the case since I installed the latest iTunes update for my iPod. The weird thing is, my iTunes on my computer plays completely normally. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this? I've tried re-syncing my iPod a few times but that hasn't done anything. Many thanks in advance for your time.
