how to delete photos on About This Mac

Like all other Macbook Air users I covet space so when I see 4.5GB is used by photos (About My Mac) and I don't knowingly have any photos stored. iphoto is empty. Photostream has been stopped. My e-mail is via Gmail therefore anything stored is on the web. I can't beleive Mac's screensavers account for 4.5GB. So, how do I recover this space. Thanks for your help

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

Use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space.
