i am in the exact same position, it happened then restored roughly 5 times it worked for the day, then when i woke up the next day same problem, now it wont work full stop. as far as i know, this is a genuine hardware failiure like the guy above said, as long as your phone is in warranty you will get a free replacement phone. Ive only had my phone 2 weeks and on My Support Profile it says my warranty has expired so I am going to have to take my recipt in just in case.

Good Luck,

Ben

EDIT: I forgot to mention, when my sim is removed from the phone it still thinks there is a sim inside for some reason, definetly getting a replacement from Apple as soon as I am home from my holidays (ironcally im closer to an Apple Store here than where I live, but my parents would rather me get an hour train from my house than a 20 minute bus from the caravan site. oh. this is why i hate caravan holidays 😉 )

Well, I have been to apple in bluewater today and my iphone is 8 days out of warranty apparently it has restored its self back as far as it can go. they tried to reboot it at apple but sadly she did not repsond. they will allow me to buy a new one for £119.99 but cannot assist me any further. Judging the you tube videos i have seen it is something really simple wrong with it. so I am sending her away to a repair company to fix her! gutting the guy said its probably a server failure that happend during the update. 😢 Oh well good luck with ur phone dude! 2 weeks old u should have no problems! 😉
