Purchase a DC inverter with at least a 100-watt peak capacity that plugs in to your auto accessory power port. (In the olden days, we called them "cigar" or "cigarette lighters".) There are some models designed to fit in a cupholder with AC sockets pointing up, making it easier to secure the inverter while driving. Some of the self-contained ones that fit entirely into the power port might be poorly designed to support the full weight of a MacBook power cube.
MacBook power supplies are rated at 60 watts. The larger-screen MacBook Pro power supplies are rated at 85 watts, so a 100-watt unit will provide a bit of extra capacity.
My car came factory-equipped with a 100-watt inverter, and it works great with my mid-2007 MacBook charger. I've also used it with a 13" MacBook Pro and once with a color printer/scanner, to do photos at an auto show.
