" Siri is available in beta only on iPhone 4S and requires Internet access. Siri may not be available in all languages or in all areas, and features may vary by area. Cellular data charges may apply."

I have iphone 4s i got it yesterday, its oncontract and i have all the features i have it all for my contract, but when i use Siri and ask it where am I? it says :  it can only be used if u live in the U.S., which is no help cos we all live somewhere in this world and we want to know where we are when we get lost, so this feature isnt good only if u live in the U.S.

Apple's web site does state that maps and local search support is currently only available in the US.  Additional countries will be added in 2012.  See here http://www.apple.com/iphone/features/siri-faq.html

As has been stated, Siri is in bata, and does not fully function in some areas. Only the US gets it's full functionality as of yet, this is not something hidden, it has been public knowledge since the 4S was released. Until full functionality is rolled out across the board, the best thing to use is the Maps app (which will show your current location), or any other map application that has realtime location based information.

You can still use it in other countries.  You simply cannot use this one particular feature of SIRI in the U.K yet.  you can still use other features of SIRI.

What do you not understand in " Siri is available in beta only on iPhone 4S and requires Internet access. Siri may not be available in all languages or in all areas, and features may vary by area. Cellular data charges may apply."

It is going to take time for Apple to record the location of every coffee bar in the world. They started with the US. That's where they are. They are working on it.

Look at the page further up entitled 'What Siri Can Do For You' and it's half way down, it states:

Siri can also assist you using these apps and services in the U.S. in English:

    • Maps
    • Local search with Yelp!

Maps and local search support will be available in additional countries in 2012.
