why is my iMovie sound music button greyed out and won't respond
just upgraded from 8 to 11. do i need ilife? os 10.6.8 MacBookPro Dual 2.4 mghz

i re-luanched iMovie and it works..

i-movie music buttons are greyed out when I select a project that has clips in it but they are working when the project has started but has no clips yet. I am running OS x10.6.8 -MacBook Pro

Processor Name: Intel Core i7
Processor Speed: 2.8 GHz
This is the first time I've used imovies and I have a brand new internal hard drive.

I would suggest trashing your preference files. If you are in iMovie 11, this is the com.Apple.imovieApp.plist and the com.Apple.iApps.plist files. For iMovie 09, it would be the com.Apple.iMovie08.plist for example.

If this does not work for you, there may have been a problem when you reinstalled OSX or iMovie to the new disk. You may need to reinstall.
