nano screen is dark

I worked out with my Nano clipped to my waistband. To my dismay, when I finished my workout, I realized the Nano screen side was against my sweaty skin! (ugh!) The screen is now faded to a very dark black but in the right light, I can still use it. Will it eventually get back to it's original bright display? I even went into that setting and tried changing it.....it's been about a month now since this has happened.
