What are you asking? Do you want to install Lion from a computer on which Lion came pre-installed? If so, you cannot. A pre-installed Lion is only usable on the computer with which it came. If you want to install Lion on another computer then you must purchase it at the App Store. The App Store copy of Lion can be installed on any computer you own.

As I stated before, you can't. There is no Lion disc image. The pre-installed Lion may only be used on that computer. If you need to reinstall Lion on that computer you do so using Internet Recovery:

OS X Lion- About Lion Recovery

Computers that can be upgraded to use Lion Internet Recovery

Using Lion Recovery when no DHCP service is available

I can't for the life of me understand why you say this. You yourself give instructions on how to get the Lion InstallESD.DMG file and make a Lion Install USB thumb drive. I take it your are assuming that the OP is thinking about installing Lion on other computers then the one it cam pre-installed on. I look at it the other way. He wants a Hard Copy of the Lion install file so if he every want to reinstall Lion he can do so without having to download it from the net.

To the OP. Follow the instructions in the Link I posted and with those you can download the Lion install files and then create your own Lion Install USB thumb drive.

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure why the OP wants a Lion disc. My interpretation is to install on another computer which is a license violation. You're welcome to encourage that activity, but at the very least not feel obliged to assail me for what i've already posted.

You've made your post, I've made mine so what is your problem?

I have no problem. You assume that the OP wants to install on some other Mac. No were in his post, any of them, does he say that is his intension.

Yes he says "so I don't have to buy it again". Well there are a lot of Mac users that have NO idea about the Recovery HD partition or the Internet Recovery system to be able to Re-Install Lion on there Mac that does not come with any media. They may assume that the only place to get it is from the App store at an additional cost.

If he had worded his post differently, like "I want a hard copy of Lion to reinstall with since they didn't included a DVD with the unit", you may of posted your script as to how to do that.

I just find it odd in some threads, many of them, you spell the proceedure out and in this one you Assume something completely different.

    Have a good day.

Then why comment at all. Maybe I just don't think about it at the time. Maybe I'm not sure of the OP's intent. Maybe I read the post differently than you do.

All you really need do is post your additional information to the OP. If you think I've omitted something you believe is important then just add it in. You don't need to make a comment such as you did. I was a little put off by it. If I misunderstood your thoughts when you wrote it, then I apologize.
