Postgres and Lion Server

Hi all,

As with many people, I am having trouble working with PostgreSQL in Lion Server. I'm trying to input form data into the PostgreSQL database on Lion Server via PHP scripts on my website. After hours of frustration (the data wasn't being entered into the database), I took a look at a lot of tutorials and other forums, all having the suggestion that I change the listen_addresses string in org.postgresql.postgres.plist to 'listen_address=127.0.0.1'. Up until this change postgres was running fine. After this change postgres just doesn't work anymore.

$ sudo serveradmin stop postgres
and
$ sudo serveradmin start postgres
both result in a "CANNOT_STOP_SERVICE_ERR". or "CANNOT_START_SERVICE_ERR" respectively.

How can I get postgres to work again?

Thanks for your help,

Ian Baldwin
