btw is there an app like boom or sumtin which is free?
Not that I'm aware of. The advantage of Boom is that it is system wide. The controls in iTunes only work in iTunes.
If you imagine that you'll ever get any real bass out of the tiny speakers built into your MBP, think again. Boosting your MBP's bass output will only be effective if you play the music through external speakers that are capable of reproducing bass frequencies.

Good to know, so I don't have to look further. I'm gonna burry my dream now.
But maybe there is some deep system setting which we can change, although it won't be easy to use.
I'm gonna look to external speakers.
I found a project about an equalizer for the whole system and not only for Itunes.
The project is from 2012 and not updated anymore so I don't know about any safety issues and compability.
