Can my son use an iTune gift-card bought in Eire and posted to UK where my son is?

Hi,

Aunt of my Son who lives in Eire [Ireland] wants to buy iTune's gift card in Ireland and posted to my son in UK as gift for his birthday. My son is 13 yrs old and do not own an iTune's account nor bank/credit cards.

His Aunt's initial attempt to purchase iTune's voucher on line in Ireland and posted to his e-mail address with a code could not be re-deemed as due to different countries. His Aunt will have to take that up with the Itune's online-store in Eire to sort that out as it was not redeemable by my son here in UK. That is another issue/story &...... Leave that a side....

She wishes to know as an alternative means, if she could purchase a iTune gift card in Ireland from a retail store and post it to my my son here in UK, would my son be able to use the gift card to purchase items from iTune UK store on-line?

Does any body know the answer? She could then go and purchase the iTune gift card in Ireland and post it to my son.

Thank you for your guidance and advice.

Ok That is clear and settles the question. Thank you

I will have to tell it her not to bother buying the iTune's gift card in Eire.

I wonder how could she get her B'Day present to her nephew who wish to purchase some track from iTune?/ Any alternative suggestion one could think of???.. Other than she posing the Euro to UK and we changing them to pounds and in the process loose 7-8%on currency conversion...
