Am I allowed to modify a MacBook 1,1-DVD to install it on a MacBook 2,1?

I had a MacBook 1,1 that died last year so I bought a used MacBook 2,1 (Black, Mid-2007) and another one in white, late-2006. Unfortunately none of them came with their original DVDs but the black came with a Leopard upgrade-DVD. Now my question:

I found a trick to modify a file on the Tiger-DVD to let it install on other machines than the MacBook it came with. Am I allowed to do it?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.7.4), 2,1 Mid-2007

Technically there are things in the license agreement that say you can't do this, but I doubt if Apple or anyone else has any interest in stopping you. Just don't be surprised if it doesn't work.

A better idea might be to purchase a retail install DVD for Snow Leopard.

Best of luck.
