MPEG4 or MPEG2 ?

Hi there,

A friend of mine just called me after I posted my problems with Toast (see other post) and said that I should use MPEG4 to burn my BRs.....which I do not do as I am using MPEG2 compression....

Am I or is he right ?????

Thanks in advance

Ivan

Thanks Shane.

My question came from a tutorial that I had found

(http://fr.video.search.yahoo.com/video/play?&c=1&p=how+to+burn+BR+with+toast+10& vid=53edcd5b2406dc38bb8b02fae7522361&dt=1254096000&l=480&turl=http%3A%2F%2Fts1.m m.bing.net%2Fvideos%2Fthumbnail.aspx%3Fq%3D4735936474317008%26id%3D7b73bf4082673 f0e6c0363a58f472fcd%26bid%3Dz0pyKmdMTOTGzA%26bn%3DLargeThumb%26url%3Dhttp%253a%2 52f%252fwww.youtube.com%252fwatch%253fv%253dL3IDhivbu8k&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.yo utube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DL3IDhivbu8k&tit=How+to+burn+a+Blu-ray+disc+with+a+custom +menu...&sigr=11a020b6i&newfp=1)

in which the author explained that if we use compressor to make a m2v file with MPEG2 format, av BR 19.0Mbps and max BR 19.0Mbps, one could import directly this file in Toast to burn a BluRay.

The way that is suggested is to use custom settings and enter in the custom settings "no re encoding"

When I watched that tutorial, I could see that the author is leaving MPG2 instead of choosing MPEG4.....

Am I all confused ???
