I have an IPhone 4S which gets extreamly burning hot when charging and quite burning hot under normal use it gets hot on the stainless steal bands and the battery and even the screen!Battery drains in 1 hour. Whats going on?Will i have to have a replacement?

Take it to Apple for evaluation and let them decide what is wrong with it.

Lots of issues can cause the 4S to heat up. Why don't you try a reset? Settings>General>Reset and go for reset all settings. I also suggest you take a back up of your stuff and do a full restore through iTunes. Updating to 5.1.1 in the process.
i'm having the same problem, and have just restored my iPhone 4S after having tried reseting with no luck so far. In fact this is the second phone i've had this problem.
Anyone have any ideas as an Apple store is nowhere near me.

In that case, the next step I took is figuring out which part of the phone is really heating up or causing the heat. Switch off your phone for sometime till it completely cools down. Then switch it back on and try to find one specific spot on the phone that is heating up more.
Next, head over to iFixit and try to determine which component inside is causing the heat.

Then post it here. If your heat is coming from the place right above the sim card slot, then your processor is running hot. Check if you have a lot of applications running.
