Make sure the firmware on your printer (check it on the printer panel) and router are current.

Make sure both the iPad and the printer are on the same network.

I don't see the Deskjet 8100 on this list. The OfficeJet Pro 8100 is on the list. If your printer isnt AirPrint compatible, you need a third party app.

Doesn't look like there is such a thing as a DeskJet 8100.

There is a LaserJet 8100, OfficeJet 8100 and a Photosmart 8100.

That was how I saw it.

My guess is they have the OfficeJet.
