The name of my Time Machine changed

I have been having problems with the one backup I now have left over wifi to my Time Capsule. Today I went in and reselected the backup disk as a first step. When I did that, the Time Capsule name came up properly as one of the choices (of places to backup to). I then selected it, typed in the time capsule backup, and the preference pane started the countdown to the next backup. The quirky thing that I am wondering about is that the Volume Name (In smaller letters) has "-2" appended to it. It used to match the volume name, which I think is the source of the issues I have been having because it was getting hung when looking for the destination. What is going on here?
