I just replaced my motherboard on my 5th gen ipod classic and now the lcd is blank. I can hear clicking sound when I press the button. I have checked the connections several times and the only thing that I see is the little black latch on the lcd ribbon connector will not latch down. Could that be my problem?

Yes. The latch not being securely fastended makes for a loose LCD ribbon cable.

Thanks planb77. I got it to snap down, but now the screen is just bright white. No words. Any suggestions?
Does the iPod appear in iTunes when you connect to your PC? If so, try restoring it to factory settings to help rule out the possibility of software glitch/issue. You're positive you ordered the correct replacement logic board?
Otherwise, it appears that something may have happened damaged the LCd when you replaced the motherboard.
