Apple's own site as provided by others does state that RAM and Hard Drive are user upgradeable and does not void your warranty. Unless you do some damage to your MB while changing your RAM or Hard Drive.

Your user guide also states that it doesn't void your warranty.

The information you receive is maybe to deter you from doing it yourself and having the store do it for you for an extra charge.

As dalstott says.

Better yet:

Go print part of your user guide about upgrading your RAM and Hard Drive "Will not VOID your warranty" and show it to them.

I've looked and can NOT find where Apple states that replacing the HDD in a Mid 2012 Macbook Pro will NOT void the warranty.....can you point me to that article please?

I've seen instruction on replacing RAM in a Mid-2012 Macbook Pro, but nothing ( http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1270 ) about the HDD.

Will i void my warranty if i upgrade my RAM on my macbook pro?
