Listing on ebay with MacBook Pro

I've been trying to create a listing on ebay with my new MacBook Pro when I get to the 3rd step Pictures and Details, fill out all the information and click on the continue button to go on to the next step it takes me to the ebay homepage. I figured this might be a problem with ebay but it has been like this for the past 2 to 3 days. Is there any setting in Safari that I need to change to make it work or is there some plug in I need ? Thanks.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Try the Safari help section or Ebay Support, not here.

Many of us don't even have MBP's yet, we really don't want to help you to sell yours.

I'm not trying to sell my MacBook Pro, I am trying to create a listing for another item I want to sell using Safari on my MacBook Pro. I'll try the Safari forum though though I didn't have any problem using Ebay with an iBook I used for a brief time. I've also tried Camino and Firefox with the same results on this MacBook.

My wife is having the same exact problem with her MacBook Pro. She is trying to find if it is an Ebay problem or what

Hi - I complained about the same thing here a week ago. No one responded or cared. When I list on eBay the MBP won't let eBay in to transfer the jpgs back to eBay.

For listing on eBay, I have reverted back to my PB G4. I am convinced that even when using the same System Preferences settings, The MBP has some limitation in access from the outside.

We won't find out what's wrong until the topics switch back to technical things. Right now all any of these people seem worried about is heat and shipping and whining!

I am wondering why someone would give advice on the MBP when he doesn't even have one, and then admit it. Sometimes I think that the advice here is worth exactly what you pay for it!

So you are saying you can post from a G4 but not from a MacBook? My wife is trying it on our PC now. If this is the case that would be something that i couldn't even begin to imagine the cause of.

She was able to post using the PC but not the macBook. If we figure anything out we'll post it.

Yeah, the Universal Binary of Safari and eBay have a problem. I had to download a copy of the PPC version of Firefox to get it to work. Basically, listing goes fine up until the last step where you are bounced back to the main page.

I took the advice of the first reply and checked out the Safari forum, where i found this solution, by checking off the box to open Safari using Rosetta I was able to complete my ebay listings without any problems, of course it takes Safari much longer to load using it this way so I'll just use Rosetta and Safari together when I need to list something on ebay. Thanks for the help.

I'm going to conclude it has something to do with the Browser's User-Agent String. There isn't much of another explanation, right?

Where is the checkbox for running Safari under Rosetta?

Also for ultimate compatability don't forget that Internet Explorer is still available at Mactopia.com...
