Q: Logic board problem

Hello,

So a week ago my computer started freezing and after that I couldn't start my macbook pro up.

After searching a while on the internet I found my computer has a logic board problem known to Apple.

I have a MacBook Pro (15 inch Early 2008) so I was really relieved when I saw this http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2377 .

I brought my Macbook too the apple store and they admit that it is the logic board and my computer falls under the article.

But for some reason it's not under guarantee they didn't really say why not, only that they send it too apple and it's refused.

This was in the letter they gave:

Problem: Machine has the known nVidia problem

Parts and workhoures:

661-4961x PCBA, MLB, 2.5 GHZ, REV2   (442,00 €)

1683 service - workhoures                         (82,65 €)

16200 service - logic board replacement

542,65 + BTW = 634,83 €

Anyone knows why they don't give me guarantee?

( I paid for 3 year guarantee when I bought it in August 2008, but they give 4 year for the logic board.)

    This is a User-to-User forum.

Apple makes no promise to read these postings, and NEVER responds here.

To solve this problem, you will need to contact AppleCare or the people who wrote you that letter.

So I sended a e-mail but they are no help at all.

They only say that it's doesn't count for my series.

But if this is true it's really easy to admit a problem and don't help after all.

And I can't find a page were they say precisely which computers fall under the guarantee.

Last thing to do is contact apple i gues.
