Q: Photobooth keeps crashing whenever I try to watch a photo booth video???

So I recently moved EVERYTHING from my old Mac desktop to my new one. When I record a video and then click to watch it, the recording screen will go black and the little color wheel will show up and long story short, I havent been able to watch any videos for a few days (for the first couple hours after the stuff on my old imac -> new imac, I could watch videos perfectly fine.)

But...with my old iMac, I had about 10 slides of extra photobooth effects. It slowed down photobooth TREMENDOUSLY but I didnt know how to uninstall them.

Unfortunately, those same effects have moved over to my new mac and its driving me nuts. I thought that was the culprit and tried uninstalling them. I cant do Library>Compositions>erase because when I do so, theres nothing there to delete!

What should I do? Also I erased 3ixv and it did nothing for me.

Does anyone have a solution???

Info:

Mac OSX 10.7.4

Lion

Restart Mac.  Then your Mac's Disk Utility to repair permissions.  Next, download and apply the 10.7.4 Combo Update: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1524.  Repair permissions again immediately following the system restart that completes the Combo update.

Then use PB to record a new short test video and see if it plays back.  If so, your PB has been repaired.

If you have or can find the original source of the effects you added, I strongly suggest that you follow the uninstall instructions specified for those effects.  If you have not other alternative, or if the instructions were to manually delete them, look in Library > Composition folders until you find them.  Possible locations are listed below.

Perhaps you looked in the Finder > Go > Computer >

Your Hard Disk name > Library > Compositions folder.

The added effects are most likely to be in the Finder > Go > Computer >

Your Hard Disk name > System > Library > Compositions folder.

In the unlikely event that you installed it for only ONE user, the effects may be in

    your User > Library folder.

However you remove the effects, restart your Mac after deleting them and test again.
