Q: I forgot my login password and it won't let me in to my Mac...please help!

I bought a new IMAC all in one in February 2012....so its very new.  I have forgotten my login password when I turn on the MAC therefore it won't allow me access.  Please, someone tell me how to reset this!!! Thank you!!

    Hello,

     

    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.

     

    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Change Password from the Installer menu up at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)

     

    *Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Change Password.*

     

    Of course for 10.7 & up there is no Install Disk, so boot from your Restore Partition holding CMD+r keys, & look for it there.
