Is Final Cut Pro better than iMovie?

Are they different? Which is better? Why is it more expensive?

Final cut Pro is a more professional version of
iMovie. It has all of the features of iMovie and
then some. iMovie is 300 bucks cheaper and for
standard film editors. I recommend it.

Imovie is not a pro version. It's a free bundled consumer version. Where do you get $300? Are you confusing "imovie" with "final cut express."

To answer the original question: Final Cut Pro is a professional editing software program. It's is exponentially more powerful than iMovie, which is great for home use and simple projects. Is it better? It depends on your needs and capability. iMovie is simple, but limiting in what it can do. For complicated/long projects it would be frustrating. FCP takes time to learn, but can handle the most complex jobs.

Thanks, Shane - I have to clean all this Gatorade off of my Cinema display now! LOL.

edit: Now that my screen is clean, I'm almost certain that this is a case of someone (guess who) creating a user account to post questions that he 'solves' himself using another account. LOL.

Message was edited by someone who spit Gatorade at his own screen because he was laughing so d@mn hard

Yeah, if you look at the posts by KJ, they are all solved by Matt. Hmm...
