I have Internet on other products but intermittent on my Mac using same wireless network

My wi fi iPad works fine on wireless home network but the Mac will not connect to internet even through airport diagnostics shows connectivity ok, how can I resolve?

iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2011), iOS 5.1.1

Are you using Safari as your test? Does anything else that accesses the Internet work, such as Mail, Mac App Store, iTunes Store (in iTunes), and Software Update?

Is this something that worked before, and is now not working? Or is this Mac new to your wireless network?
